While using our website we will ask you for personal information including (but not limited to): First and last name, contact number, email address, ID number and area where you are applying.

How the company may use your personal data

In order to provide you with and maintain our Service, we may use your data in the following ways:

To activate your account when you register with us. The personal data that you provide will allow us to ensure that we can tailor our service for what you want. The processing of your personal data is necessary for the fulfillment of the contract in connection with the use of the service to which you are a party to.

Cookies and/or Browser Cookies. These are text files with small pieces of data (like a username and password) that are used to identify your computer as you use a computer network. Silence SA will also use information from third parties (e.g. telematic providers, insurance companies,traffic services and other ride-sharing platforms) to ensure that the vehicle provided is fully operational, to manage the billing related to your contract and to drive any rewards issued in accordance with the terms set out relating to the Silence_SA rewards program.

Silence_SA also logs each visit to each web page on the site. The log may contain information such as the browser type you use, your Internet Protocol address, and the date and time of day of the visit. We may also log your cookie identification number and the URL of the last site you visited. This log information is important for security and quality improvement (e.g., to detect and remove any issues identified), as well as for monitoring the performance of the platform. We will retain and use your personal data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

Silence SA may aggregate your personal data to create statistical data which it could use to improve its products and services. The data collected is on an aggregated basis and does not contain individual information (e.g., the number of rentals on the platform, or number of site visits). This will help us improve our services based on overall user needs and the trends arising as a result of those needs.

Silence SA may use your personal data to send promotional messages. If, at any moment, you do not wish to receive promotional messages from us anymore, you can unsubscribe by using the opt-out option.  Silence SA retains your email address for as long as you are subscribed to the newsletter and not longer than 3 months after you unsubscribe.  Silence SA may also send you communications via digital channels (e.g. Whatsapp, SMS) depending on where you are in the sign up and rental process.

Our operations team  may collect and process your personal data to be of service to you and to respond to any questions you submit through email or the contact us section on the website. We will only store your personal data for as long as you have an account and will delete your data within a reasonable amount of time after you deactivate your account.

How we may share your personal data

Silence SA may share personal information with vendors and service providers who are engaged by or working with us in connection with the operation of our website and who need access to such information to carry out their work for us. Silence SA will choose service providers who give sufficient guarantees to protect personal data and implement appropriate measures to comply with applicable data protection laws. Service providers we make use of are: Third party hosting providers, including cloud providers for the storage and management of data;Third party insurance providers;Third parties that provide tools for analytical purposes;Payment providers in order to process and collect your payments.
